About Midtnorsk Helikopterservice
Midtnorsk Helikopterservice has roots going back to 2002, when the helicopter operation was established in Verdal. The company started small, with one helicopter and a small organisation, and received its first operational approval from the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority the same year.
The reindeer husbandry industry was among the first customers, and assignments for reindeer herding became an important part of the business during the early years. This gave the company early experience with demanding helicopter operations in areas where weather, terrain and local conditions place high demands on both pilot and equipment.
Over the years the business has developed gradually. From the original activity with a single helicopter, Midtnorsk Helikopterservice has built a broader operation and a stable customer base in both the private and public sectors. Today the company carries out passenger transport, sightseeing, cargo flying, power line and infrastructure work, inspection assignments, photo and film work and other specialised helicopter missions.
The company's main base is at Verdal Helicopter Airport, Slottelid, where it has developed its own facilities for operational and technical activities. Local roots have been important throughout the company's history, and many years of operations in Trøndelag have given considerable experience with local weather, terrain and operating conditions.
